Be part of the First Ever Jerry Clayton BMW North Shore Marathon. "It's a Shore Thing"
On Sunday 28th August 2011 the first ever Jerry Clayton BMW North Shore Marathon, Half Marathon, 5k and ChildFund NZ Kids Beach Run will take place in the heart of Auckland's North Shore - Takapuna.
Keep coming back every year for 5 years and you become part of our exclusive Golden Shoe Survivors Club earning you priority entry, special Bib Number allocation and much much more. Will you be our longest serving Inagural participant and how long will it be before you are the last one standing? 10 years? 15 years? 20 years? or more?
North Shore is famous for it's beautiful East Coast beaches, views out to the Hauraki Gulf and landmarks like North Head, the North Shore Marathon incorporates all these into one great event.
The Race Head Quarters will be based at Gould Reserve, Takapuna Beach and will be the centre of all the race activity. Participants will Start and Finish at Gould Reserve and will also pass through this area at the 6km, 21km and 27km, making it a great race for spectators and supporters who are within 100 meters of the cafes and restaurants that Takapuna is renowned for.
The course will be based on a 21km circuit that will first see participants head from Takapuna to Milford and return before making their way down to Devonport and back to Takapuna.
The North Shore Marathon is set to become the biggest and best annual event on the North Shore Calender with great community and business support.
Region vs Region is a competition within the Jerry Clayton BMW North Shore Marathon that will see different areas of Auckland, New Zealand and the World compete against one another for bragging rights as the fastest runners. Every participant with select a Region to represent and the Region with the Fastest Average Time will have bragging rights as the fastest runners around.
The Official Charity of the Jerry Clayton BMW North Shore Marathon is ChildFund NZ. We will be donating $1 from every entry to ChildFund NZ and we encourage all participants to use the event as a opportunity to further raise funds for this great charity.
